being a magical puppet isn't always easy, especially not when you first have to kill someone and then rip yourself apart...

This monster is very useful as plot hook, or as distraction or side quest. Adding this monster means you need an npc who's crazy enough to take blood from innocent kids and their favorite doll, if your BBEG truly is heartless, this is a perfect way to show it!!

But please do give your players a chance of getting some information about the monster, so they don't have to kill it over and over again (you could let them kill it a couple times before you let them figure out what it is, but you shouldn't let them kill it a hundred times, be reasonable 😉).
